When I talk about The best sniper in the world, The 1st thing that comes to your mind Is some what a picture of a man Who has the most kills in the history.
Well, Most of the people have heard about Chris Kyle, An American Soldier, On the story of whom the Movie American Sniper was made. This American Soldier had 160 kills. In 2015, The British media reported that a Royal Marine was the best sniper in the history with around 173 kills.
But in this article, I am going to tell you about the deadliest sniper that has ever lived in the history of mankind. His name was Simo Häyhä. He was a 2nd leutnant in Finnish army. He killed about 505 to 542 Russian Soldiers during the winter war in a conflict between Soviet Union and Finland started back in 1939 and ended after three mmonths.in these three months, Finland lost 25,900 soldiers and Soviet union lost 126,900 Soldiers. The Finnish Army also counted the number of kills everyday.
His biggest achievement was 25 kills per day !
On December 22, 1939 he killed 138 russians according to the documents.
January 26, 1940 the documents state that he killed 199 people.
On March 7th 1940, his kill count was 259 people and increasing day by day. But that day was one of his worst day as he was shot in his face although survived, he lived his life and died at the ripe age of 97 years.
But who was This man?
Simo Hayha was born in Finland which is a very close country to Russia. At the age of 20, he became a civil guard. He won so many shooting competitions that no room was left for any new awards.
Later, he was enlisted as a Sniper for Finland Army. He was assigned duty in the area covered with snow. He wore white suit to take cover in snow and snipe out the Russians. He would take out his tatgets from even 300 meters away. He would put snow in his mouth to hold his breath in order to protect his camouflage. He was named as “The White Death”
The Russians were so much afraid of him that once they bombared the whole area, but to his luck, Simo Hayha survived. In an interview later on he said that he did not feel any guilt for the people he killed as he was only doing his duty.
He was so much conscious in finding his hiding position that he would spend a lot of time to find a perfect spot and he would make sure that his gun wouldn’t jam or he wouldn’t be seen while firing. But the trangest thing is that his Sniper rifle M28-30 had no scope !
He had understood the way how wind works and the effect of it on bullet. Finally, he was shot in jaw for which he had 26 surgeries but the bullet still left a mark on his face.
There’s a book written on him by the name of “The White Sniper”. Well here’s a quote from Simo Hayha,
War is not pleasant, but who will protect the country unless we are willing to do it ourselves.
Well , Have you ever shot a sniper?
Do you have what it takes to become a professional Sniper?
I have read about him…. The man is an inspiration himself…. Anyways there are 2 spell mistakes in the article…
1. Under the heading Who was this man, paragraph # 2, line # 4, word “tatget”….. I think it shoud be “target”!
2. Under the heading “Who was this man”, paragraph # 4, line # 4, word “trangest”….. I think it should be “Strangest”!!!!
👍👍👍
